WE NEED YOUR HELP!
For years, students across California have been at the frontlines of the movement for building a clean and just future. Just within the past year, our communities have led efforts to divest our universities’ endowments from the fossil fuel industry, to defend our communities from fracking, and to reduce the disproportionate impact of climate change on marginalized communities.
Now with the movement for climate justice rapidly growing across the nation, we are excited to announce that thousands of students and community members will converge on October 18th for Power Shift in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The California Student Sustainability Coalition is looking for your financial support to send 300 students from California to Power Shift.
Together we will develop and launch regional and national campaigns that will advance our vision of a clean, just and sustainable future. We will learn from each other and ultimately build lasting networks that will continue to shape our careers as activists, community leaders, and entrepreneurs.
Coordinating an event this big requires hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Our amazing team that is striving to achieve the goal of bringing 300 students from California to Pittsburgh has all the listed qualities indeed, however, it lacks the financial resources to accomplish this final goal.
This is why we need your financial contribution to send our student leaders to Power Shift 2013!
We are hoping you can help in one or more of the following ways:
- Sponsoring one or more students to attend the conference at $500 per person.
- Providing a partial scholarships to one student at $250.
- Making any kind of donation.
In return for receiving the scholarship, students will:
- Publicly thank (Supporter ____) in press releases and on our website.
- Bring educational events and organizing skills back to their communities and campuses.
Your Power Shift 2013 team.
